Program Highlights:
Strategic alliances and other collaborative inter-firm agreements have become commonplace in today's economy. As companies specialize, they are beginning to move away from large, control-based structures to more flexible and relationship-oriented partnering. By analyzing the three phases of the Alliance Life Cycle, Dr. Shavers explores the ingredients of successful partnerships, focusing on the impact the alliance will have on each partner's bottom line. Dr. Cheryl Shavers is Director of Emerging Technologies in the Corporate Business Development Division at Intel, with responsibilities including technology assessment, structuring of business alliances, and equity investments. Previously, she held engineering positions at Hewlett-Packard and Motorola and management positions at Wilton Electronics Company and Varian Associates. She is a contributing author to several syndicated newspapers and writes a column for the San Jose Mercury News.
